"First Step Perinatal Program |
|
The Perinatal Program
is a partnership of Sierra Vista Children’s Center and Center for
Human Services through a contract with Stanislaus County Behavioral
Health and Recovery Services. First Step provides a comprehensive
continuum of services for pregnant and parenting women and their
children ages 0-5 and is designed to assist women in maintaining
drug and alcohol free lifestyles and to develop positive parenting
skills. Understanding the difficulties of women seeking help in the
face of addiction is recognized. A warm atmosphere which blends an
individualized professional treatment program with support and
caring is offered. The staff is ready to assist each woman on the
path to recovery.

Outpatient and Day
Treatment Services
Services are available at the
First Step facility between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM. Women participate in
group and individual alcohol and drug treatment services while their
children attend the specialized Child Care Center. The year long program is
designed in a three phase model. Advancement in the program is contingent
upon meeting specific treatment goals, completion of assignments and
maintaining abstinence at each phase. |
|
Residential Program
The program provides
treatment for 13 women and their dependent preschool children ages 0-5. Each
woman has an individual room where they can stay with two children for up to
one year. Women participate in daily groups, parent education, life skills
education, and social and recreational activities. |
